May be they will make a fix? I am still on the the denial or bargaining stages of grief. their customer support call center does answer calls. The CM-7600 came out Jan 2019 and discontinued it in 2020, not a long run. I can't believe everyone gave up and seems to have gone straight to step 5 of grieving, resignation. (Non-PiGS 7500 users are in the same boat, to be fair.) If so, the "fix" is probably just a temporary one, as Google will probably shut off the server for good at some point. It could be that the particular version he has uses one of the two URL's that PiGS intercepts as a fallback, allowing PiGS to work or it could be that the real 7600 guide is still working, if only you have a version old enough to request 's last post seemed to indicate that his guide was working even with PiGS shut off, which would imply the latter is the case. You may also need to disable updating GLC in the Play Store so Google doesn't update you to 1.30 again.īut all that said, we also don't know how he got his guide back. You'll probably need to "uninstall," which will set you back to the 7600's original version, followed by installing the linked. I'd say that's the best bet for reproducing 's apparent success. There's no version 1.29 at APKMirror, but 1.28 was released way back in Nov. (Yeah, sure "always apply the latest updates!" Give me a break.) I would bet this version has a 7/31 "time bomb," and that Google has been planning this all year. A quick search (Google, ironically) indicates that the latest Live Channels version (1.30) was released this January. He seems to have gotten his guide back, on one of his 7600's at least, but without knowing what version of Google Live Channels he has on the 7600 that's working, we can't reproduce his result. Unfortunately no longer seems to be monitoring this thread. Luckily PiGS is free and you can get a 1-week SD free trial. We need more 7600 users to try this so we can find out what's going on. Do they have different versions of Live Channels? Perhaps Google removed the fallback code at some point. Plus there's the matter of the other 7600 that doesn't work. This is a bunch of guesswork, so it's probably wrong. E* cut that server off, so if Live Channels's fallback is that old host, then it won't get anything from the Internet - but it will get data from PiGS because PiGS spoofs both the old and the new guide host! I'm not sure of the timing, but the 7500 used to use a different host name for the guide. So why isn't anyone else getting the old guide on Live Channels? CM makes it available to download one day per week, as non-PiGS 7500 users know. If so, the code to access the old Rovi guide may still be in there as a fallback, so when Google cut off the new guide, Live Channels started trying to download the old Rovi guide again. I never thought about it until now, but it's possible that Google switched the Live Channels app from Rovi to Gracenote, causing the confusion. Then later, it became clear that they weren't: the 7500 was getting info from Rovi (TiVo) and the 7600 was getting it from Gracenote (same source Schedules Direct uses). How?īack when the 7600 started, it appeared that both the 75 were using the same guide. It seems like somehow Bob got his guide working again, at least on one of his 7600s.
